About Me
As an Executive Interim Manager, I help companies achieve growth, transform their structures and align their sales activities for lasting success. With over 30 years of experience in national and international projects, I combine hands-on C-level implementation expertise with in-depth knowledge of B2B sales.
My focus is on developing, repositioning and scaling sales organisations – particularly in manufacturing companies such as mechanical and plant engineering, steel and plastics processing, and demanding project business. I have repeatedly guided companies into new markets and achieved significant revenue growth, including multiple instances of tripling revenue with profit improvements of up to a factor of six. My conviction is always centred on profitable revenue growth, including the elimination of loss-making business.
My career began at the age of 24 as sales director of a publicly listed family-owned industrial company. I subsequently served as CEO in more than ten companies and spent a total of 35 years as a manager and executive in industry – with responsibility for up to 600 employees and revenue of up to €230 million. As an interim manager, I am equally at home with the dynamics of family-owned businesses (SMEs and family-controlled groups), the structures of large corporations (DAX, MDAX, SDAX) and private equity-backed organisations.
Beyond sales and growth, I also focus on general management and leading entire business units, as well as transformation and restructuring. I guide companies through complex change processes – from optimising processes and organisational structures to far-reaching decisions such as site closures. In doing so, I combine strategic clarity with decisive execution.
As a trained industrial business specialist with a strong technical understanding, I operate confidently at the interface between sales, engineering and production. I have repeatedly initiated and successfully brought to market new products and business models in the B2B sector. For example, as CEO of a steel tube manufacturer, I initiated the development of coiled steel tubes for the renewable energy sector, significantly reducing the cost of cable protection pipes for wind farm power lines. As CEO of Maurer Rides GmbH in Munich, I was the first to present the idea of a roller coaster on a cruise ship to client Carnival Cruises. This became the 'BOLT Ultimate Sea Coaster' – the world's first ever roller coaster at sea – installed on Carnival Cruises' 'Mardi Gras'. The concept went on to set a hugely successful trend and has since inspired many imitators.
I see myself as a 'doer and implementer' for entrepreneurs, shareholders and executives. My main focus is on the operational and strategic support of clients – predominantly owner-managed SMEs, but also companies with private equity backing, start-ups and large corporations. As a B2B sales expert, I am also a member of DDIM and actively involved in the DDIM specialist group 'Digitalisation & Industry 4.0', where experienced practitioners regularly exchange views on current sales and digitalisation strategies and continue their professional development.
Above all, I am results-oriented, collaborative and ambitious. My guiding principle is 'Actions speak louder than words' – in the spirit of Erich Kästner (German author): 'There is nothing good unless you do it'
